Histon Manor is a privately owned estate just outside of the city of Cambridge which hosts exclusive events, as well as offering beautiful designed meeting rooms.
The family only host a limited number of large events a year but offer more flexible access to small groups. The venue is dry hire, but they work with a number of different caterers to provide on site food and drink; or you can bring your own. Once booked, the spaces in the house and the gardens are yours exclusively, they only have one group at a time.
The House
There are three rooms that are available to use. These rooms work very well together to offer small groups a variety of unique spaces enabling a change of scene when needed – so different from the office. The Boardroom comfortably seats 12 people. You also have access to the Sitting Room, ideal as an informal breakout space. Then the Billiards Room which houses the new kitchen is where lunch and tea/coffee is served. When you hire Histon Manor you are automatically given the 3 rooms and access to the downstairs bathroom.
Your team will be the only people on site so will have free access to the gardens which are beautiful. The grounds are well known for their snowdrop and daffodil displays and in summer the borders are full of colour. They are very happy for you to arrange a yoga session or just have a walk around the outside spaces. It really does offer the perfect break from the office – an escape from tech and interruptions.
The Grounds
The 11 acres of grounds are also available for dry hire for larger groups and corporate events. There is space to erect a marquee that will seat up to maximum of 250 guests. Small gazebos are available on site for smaller groups and more relaxed garden parties. The site offers a great opportunity for team building events with a flat lawn for garden games or why not organise a treasure hunt and explore the private island surrounded by a moat?
Histon Manor really does offer an exclusive retreat away from the office for a limited number of groups. The space is not widely advertised so Histon Manor is still a closely guarded secret.
