The Old Hall, Ely, is a Jacobean Manor House set in lovely grounds with views over the Fens to Ely Cathedral.
The venue has been run as an exclusive wedding venue for the last few years, but recently they have been moving into the corporate venue sector. The adult only venue does not cater for passing trade or walk-in guests, and the restaurant (located in the Orangery) is only available to those that pre-book. It really is a peaceful, luxurious hidden gem.
Old Hall has 16 bedrooms – which have all been individually styled by the owner and each room has a unique feel, complete with its own antiques.
It really does feel relaxed and homely. Nothing was too much trouble for the attentive staff, and we had a really productive day working in their tranquil lounge.
The venue has lots of spaces that are suitable for both day meetings and dinners and the permanent marquee can hold up to 100 cabaret style. The Orangery is great for groups of up to 80 for meetings and dinners. The Lakes room can hold up to 16 boardroom style, and the Sitting Room can hold up to 20 boardroom style.
Once an exclusive-use only venue, they will now happily take bookings for day meetings, or dinners.
All the catering is on-site and the team has a great list of suppliers, so they can help you organise all those extras to make your event a success. The Chef is even available to run a canape making masterclass if you want to add team-building to your meeting. The lake, landscaped gardens and open spaces provide endless team building possibilities – all with views over the fens to the majestic Ely Cathedral.
