We are 20!!!

In case you missed it; HotelRes are 20 this year!

Steve Wilson started the business in 1999, primarily offering Cambridge corporate clients a global accommodation booking service. Lots has changed in that time, but the ethos of the company remains the same: to offer corporate clients a professional but personal service.

HotelRes has never worked with preferred suppliers, this complete impartiality means HotelRes will only ever recommend the most suitable hotels and venues to its clients, allowing the business to build trust and understanding with its customers. With the development of the internet the core business quickly changed from individual reservations to events and groups. Today HotelRes books venues around the world for meetings, conferences, dinners and incentives daily. The accommodation team still book large volumes of individual guest accommodation, but most of their work is now handling group requirements.

As part of the celebrations HotelRes hosted a special party and exhibition for the Cambridge Event community. Colleagues from venues all over Cambridge came with goodies, information and presentations to share with HotelRes’ clients. Cambridge Rugby Union Football Club provided the venue. A few event suppliers provided entertainment: Live the City supplied an excellent interactive quiz and Right Angle Events built a crime scene and supplied outdoor games. Cantab Catering provided canapes. Clients spent an informative afternoon networking with each other, our venue and supplier colleagues and, of course, the HotelRes’ team. Given its success, plans are to make it an annual event.
